Hey all!
This is the first in a series of posts where we go through each book's battleplans and note if there are any changes we feel should be made to play it with the PPC Comp. Let's begin at the beginning, with the Age of Sigmar big rulebook!
As always, feedback of all kind is appreciated.
AGE OF SIGMAR
Always ignore the part of The Armies section that says "If one player has at least a third more models than their opponent, then...". Instead, always choose or roll off to determine each player's role in the battleplan.
Hold or Die (p. 142)
- The invader splits his army into three forces, as equal in points as possible. The force with the least points will be the starting force in this battleplan. The other two will combine into the reinforcement force.
The Watchtower (p. 154)
- No changes.
The Ritual (p. 162)
- The force of the disrupter should contain 20% more points than the force of the ritualist.
The Trap (p. 178)
- The game lasts for 5 battle rounds.
- Instead of the written victory conditions, use these victory points (VPs) instead:
A unit worth up to 200 points = 2 VPs slain, or 1 VP if more than 50% have been removed.
A unit worth up to 400 points = 3 VPs slain, or 1 VP if more than 50% have been removed.
A unit worth over 400 points = 4 VPs slain, or 2 VPs if more than 50% have been removed.
The general is worth an extra 2 VPs.
The player with the highest amount of victory points at the game's end is the glorious winner!
Breakthrough (p. 190)
- No changes.
Pre-Emptive Strike (p. 204)
- Summon Reinforcements: You get 100 pts worth of models if you successfully roll for reinforcements. You can save this to have it added to your next successful reinforcements roll if you wish (getting 200 pts next successful roll).
- The force of the sentinel should contain 20% more points than the force of the trespasser.
Sudden Assault (p. 216)
The general is worth an extra 1 VPs.
The custodian's chosen summoner (if there is one) is worth an extra 2 VPs if slain. If the summoner survives the game, the custodian instead gains 2 VPs.
Storm the Walls (p. 224)
- Animate Infernal Guardians: Roll a dice:
1 Set up at unit worth up to 60 pts.
2 Set up at unit worth up to 70 pts.
3 Set up at unit worth up to 80 pts.
4 Set up at unit worth up to 90 pts.
5 Set up at unit worth up to 100 pts.
6 Set up at unit worth up to 110 pts.
This unit does not have to follow the standard warscroll minimum size.
