Hey all,
Time is closing in on the next update of the PPC Comp pack, and this time we will have another PPC Scenario added to it.
During playtesting, we've had a blast with this scenario, and hopefully you will too. If you have any comments on it, please do so we can improve it even further!

The Gaunt Summoner
I've taken a look at the Gaunt Summoner rules now, and would appreciate some input.
The description says it always comes with a Book of Profane Secrets, but we're thinking about making it an upgrade anyway due to the nature of the ability.
So please let me know which you prefer:

Charity Tournament in Calgary, Canada!
Hi all!
Some days ago it came to our attention that some fine folk in Calgary, Canada, had organized a tournament of Warmahordes, 40k and Age of Sigmar, and that they were using the PPC (1500 pts) for the event.
The reason behind the tournament was to help raising funds to build a proper playground in one of Calgary's elementary schools. What a fantastic event for a fantastic cause!

Possible Rules Addition Vote
Hey all,
As most of you know, we like to keep the rules alterations as small as possible in the PPC. There is one issue that might need to be adressed in the upcoming version of the comp, an issue that can ruin many a games and by the looks of it from different forums often does so.

Seraphon army list added
It's time for Seraphon to have their very own list...which basically is the same as the Lizardmen with a few name changes and a Skink hero added.
Please note that there are some changes coming up pointswise for both Lizardmen and Seraphon, but since we will update all lists at the same time later on, those changes are not yet implemented in this list.

The Empire Unit Cards Uploaded
I've uploaded unit cards of the entire Empire army list today. Check them out here!
I've decided to not include any PPC costs on the cards - so they are more usable to people not using the system. I've also updated the Stormcast and Bloodbound to these new versions without costs.

BattleScribe file updated
Hi all,
I noticed some more "0 points" entries in the BattleScribe file, that I've fixed alongside a few other bugs. I've gone through all lists again now, so there shouldn't be any more units costing 0 points.

Small BattleScribe update
Hi,
Made a small update to the BattleScribe file today, as it turned out that the Khorne Bloodbound list had three models listed at costing 0 pts, which I found was just a bit too cheap for them :)
The new file is in the PPC Section.

PPC has gone stable!
Hi,
I am Attilla, the main coordinator behind the Project Points Cost, or PPC for short.
It is my great pleasure to announce that we have finally reached what we believe is the first truly stable version of the PPC points and comp rules! We will from now on name our versions according to the date it was updated, current version is now 2015.11.

Three lists updated to v0.6!
Hi all!
High Elves, Lizardmen, and Vampire Counts have been updated to v0.6 as of today!
There aren't many surprises in these lists, other than some monsters having their cost raised pretty massively. But if anyone's played those monsters, it shouldn't really come as a surprise after all. :)
Some units have been tweaked up or down a few points, as have some heroes. Many units are still found stable at their current prices, and ranged units still cost about the same now that we're about to remove Screening and penalties from shooting into/out of melee.
As always, let us know if you find anything odd!

Daemons of Chaos updated to v0.6!
One of the big lists updated! The Daemons of Chaos is now v0.6, and includes points for Skarbrand, a true bada** for sure!
Many changes and tweaks are based on reports to the PPC team, and others are in pure comparison versus units and monsters from other army lists.
Thanks for all contributions to this and other lists, and as always - if you find something we've missed or something you don't agree with, let us know what and why and we'll check it out!

Another Comp Rule Bites the Dust!
In the spirit of not changing Age of Sigmar any more than absolutely neccessary, another rule will go away when the PPC hits v0.3.
Some days ago we discussed the to be or not to be of penalties when firing into and out of melee. It used to be at a -1 to hit to do so, but it was decided that we no longer need that addition.

Today saw the Dark Elf list updated, with its monster's costs tweaked according to how monsters perform and their stats throughout different lists. Therer are also lots of other small tweaks in the list, and the infantry that benefits from being 20+ models have had their cost increased for adding many models, similar to other lists.

A small request...
Good evening (Swedish time!)
It has come to my attention that there have been some tournaments going on around the globe that uses the PPC, and it's extremely pleasant to hear that all you fine people are using the system for both casual and semi-competetive games!
We do have a small request for anyone reading this, and that is to send us footage of your games using the PPC, be it in a tournament or just casual play. I'd love to put it up on the blog for others to read and enjoy.
So grab that camera, write a few (or many!) words about it and send it to attillaq3 at gmail.com!
It would be very appreciated!
Cheers!

Beastmen updated to v0.6!
The Beastmen list has been updated to v0.6. This means it has become stable, and will stay this way for some time now (unless we encounter something we've missed that needs to be fixed soon, of course).
This version has seen many points tweaks, especially for its monsters.
You can find the v0.6 Beastmen list here.
Stormcast Eternals are now v0.6b
As Games Workshop releases new models for each new faction, we will update their lists as soon as possible with the point costs of these new models.
This means that new factions will often be updated with new versions using letters, to note that its not one of the major overhauls of the list, but just a minor.
Knight-Vexillor and Knight-Heraldor have been added to the Stormcast list in v0.6b. Find the list here!

Hobby: Rebasing Empire and objective
Cheers,
Here's another hobby post - gotta have a few of them as well to keep my sanity :)
I've begun rebasing an Empire army I'll either play with or lend out to friends. So far I've rebased a small warband of about 500 pts, that will go to war against the Vampire Counts I've posted earlier (here). The bases are not yet finished, but here they are at this stage, along with an objective area:

Dwarf list updated to v0.6!
Cheers all!
I have now updated the Dwarfs to v0.6. This version is to be considered stable when it comes to points costs set by algorithm. But as we all know, a formula can not be 100% accurate all of the time, so from now on we will change any unit that needs to change from playtest reports. This means it is very important that you tell us anything you can about this list in play - be it something you have found to be balanced, or something you have found to be not so balanced.
ALL INPUT ON THE PPC IS ALWAYS WELCOME AND WELL RECEIVED!
So, exactly what has changed for v0.6?

Tweaking summoning costs
Hi everyone!
The time has come to finally tweak the summoning costs of the PPC, in accordance to the odds of actually getting the spell off and how many points you can summon with the spell.
To let you in on how I will work this out, I've taken some time to write the procedure down for you. This is very important to me, as summoning is one of the hottest debates in the AoS game! Some think summoning is way to overpowered, while others think it should be free. The way I describe below will be the goal of this tweak - if any cost is to change later on, it will be from reports of actual gameplay and not by theoryhammering. :)

Sorry for that, fellows!

Vampire Counts v0.5 up!
Allright, the time has come for the Vampire Counts to recieve their place in the v0.5 league. In this version, we see changes to alot of the units, some have gone up and others have dropped. The great monsters have all been raised, but that has been the way of all army lists for v0.5 so far, so no big surprise there.
We also continue the new way of pricing infantry that gets better with higher numbers. You will find that large units of zombies or skeletons cost proportionally more than smaller units, as they benefit from some nasty bonuses in larger numbers. Remember that this is still a trial for the prices - and I would appreciate feedback after trying it out for a few games.
There have also been some changes in the costs of summoning spells, that I think will be slightly more appropriate.

Good evening (around here anyway)!
Today sees the update of Stormcast Eternals to v0.5. This also means the addition of Decimators and Protectors to the list.

Now off to keep working the Vampire Counts list. It will hopefully be ready for release tomorrow!

Official PPC Scenario 2 - Battle Royale
Hello!
Here's the second of three official PPC scenarios for use with the PPC Comp and its army lists. Consider this scenario a draft, and please comment on anything you feel need to change on the dakkadakka thread here.
Cheers!
PPC Scenario 2 – Battle Royale
Setup
- Roll a dice to determine the deployment:
1-2: Battleline
Each player deploys up to 12” from the long table edge.
Each player deploys up to 12” from the long table edge.
3-4: Hammer and Anvil
Each player deploys up to 24” from the short table edge.
Each player deploys up to 24” from the short table edge.
5-6: Meeting Engagement
Each player deploys up to 12” from the short table edge, and up to 12” into half the long.
Each player deploys up to 12” from the short table edge, and up to 12” into half the long.
Time Length
Battle Royale uses a random turn limit. At the end of the 6th turn, roll a dice:
- if the dice shows a result of 1-3, the battle ends. Count any victory points as described in Victory Conditions.
- On a roll of 4-6, there is a final 7th turn, after which victory points is calculated as described in the scenario played.
Victory Conditions
To win this scenario,
you must destroy as much of the enemy force as possible:
- Any unit of up to 200 pts is worth 2 victory points when destroyed, or 1 victory point if more than 50% wounds have been removed.
- Any unit of more than 200 pts, but less than 400 pts is worth 3 victory points when destroyed, or 1 VP if more than 50% wounds have been removed.
- Any unit of more than 400 pts is worth 4 victory points if destroyed, or 2 VPs if more than 50% wounds have been removed.
You can also
achieve bonus victory points for the following:
- Slay the General: If you have slain the enemy general, you gain another +2 victory points.
- Linebreaker: If you have a unit completely within 6” of the enemy
battlefield edge, you gain another +2 victory points. This is the long edge for
the Battleline setup, and the short edge of the other two setups.
Tournament Play
This scenario can be used as one of three missions from the PPC Comp for tournaments, in which case there is one additional point to know before play:
- If you score both Slay the General and Linebreaker, you gain 1 Tie Breaker Point.
- After a tournament, if two or more players score the same total victory points, the player with the most Tie Breaker Points wins.

Big update for the Skaven, v0.5!
The time has come for the Skaven army list to be closer looked at. Inside v0.5 you will find plenty of adjustments made to models. Some have become cheaper, others have gone up in price. Many units have had their equipment options added.
You will also notice that some units, such as the Clan Rats, have different prices depending on how many models you have in the unit. This is the new way of doing it, to make sure each unit costs according to what it can perform on the battlefield. All v0.5 lists will use this for any units that provide good bonuses in large quantities.
You can find the lists HERE!

Official PPC Scenario 1 - Capture
Hi!
Here's the first of three official PPC scenarios for use with the PPC Comp and its army lists. Consider this scenario a draft, and please comment on anything you feel need to change.
Cheers!
Dark Elves v0.5!
Hello!
You can now find 0.5th version of the Dark Elves army list in the PPC section.
The update to v0.5 will be the biggest so far, as it means going through each army list in detail, closely examining each unit, rather than entering all data into an excel sheet and print out the value given.
Expect it to take some time to finish this update for all the lists. If you want me to work on a particular army as soon as possible, let me know and I'll make it my next one. Otherwise I'll go through them at random, finishing whichever I feel like at the moment :)
As always, the lists can be found HERE, and the dakkadakka discussion is here.

Next stage of development
Heads up on the next stage of general PPC development:
* Key units will be cross-referenced using a new formula (credits to Andreas 2.0 and GuitaRasmus on dakkadakka)
* The Comp doc will be updated to v0.2, with some clarifications and three added scenarios that can be combined for tournament play.
* Individual units will recieve a check to ensure each unit has its worth inside the faction. They will then be cross-referenced to other lists to create better external balance between different lists.
Any opinions and comments are as always welcome!

Another four lists updated to v0.4
Daemons of Chaos, Empire, Dwarfs, and High Elves have been updated for the new PPC Comp format. This means that the first of the summoning armies have had their summoning spells adjusted according to the comp.
The Daemons can upgrade any of their chaos wizards with one or more spells that lets you summon a unit worth a certain amount of points. For example, upgrading a wizard with the "Lesser Summoning" enables the wizard to summon a unit worth up to 100 pts, with a casting value of 7. Should you want the really heavy stuff, you instead upgrade with "The Grand Invocation", that has a casting value of 10 but lets you summon 200 pts worth of models!
You can find these new lists HERE!
Please try it out and comment on it, either here on on the dakkadakka thread:

Five lists updated to v0.4
As of now, the Stormcasts, Bloodbound, Beastmen, Bretonnia, and Dark Elves, have been updated to comply with the PPC Comp document. This means that any ranged weapons in these lists may be used in melee as well.

Monster costs
I discovered something strange today with my base stats excel sheet. For some time now it has looked like brutal units with lots of damage, such as monsters and monstrous infantry, didn't cost properly. They simply murdered any infantry they attacked. This has been reported by many on the forums and through mail as well.
I have been going through my formula, scratching my head a few times, but today I found the error! A small + sign instead of the correct * in the excel sheet was the joker. I have since gone through most army lists again, and high wound, high damage monsters sure have gone up in cost all across the board. And not in a small way. In fact, I rather hope these new points are alittle too high, to end the reign of monsters. Please let me know about it when v0.4 hits the blog. I would rather decrease some monster costs than keep raising them.
On a side note, I have been offered to use a basic stats formula of some nice Danish people to cross-reference to that of my own. While this will naturally take more time, a cross-reference will in the end benefit the PPC with better accuracy. This will be made to the v0.5 versions, as v0.4 is about the monster costs and making all ranged weapons cost according to the new PPC comp.
But the best points costs accuracy will always come from trying and testing in actual battles, so lets game! :)
Using GDrive from now on, not Dropbox
I have noticed that it is hard sometimes to access the lists from Dropbox. I have transferred them all to my Google Drive instead, and linked them from there. That should hopefully work better for everyone!

Release of the PPC Comp doc v0.1!
The PPC Comp document v0.1 is released! You can find it in the header above... or if you're lazy, just click HERE ;)
Blogging time!
You might notice a few changes here on the blog; I put all important documents at the top header, so it will be easy to find at any times.
This will leave the actual blog open to... well to actual blogging. Expect to see updates on the project, as well as batreps and other stuff here in the future.
Cheers!

Discussing the upcoming PPC comp rules
A thread has been created on the dakkadakka forum to discuss how we should improve the gameplay of the PPC set by applying a few fixes and limitations. Something to keep in mind though; the less we mess, the better we're off :)

Welcome to the Age of Sigmar Project Points Cost!
So, the newest Warhammer game called Age of Sigmar is about to be released...
We've been following this game from the earliest rumours, and while we're sad to see the old Fantasy Battles go away, we still can't help but feel excited for what is to come!
When the rulebook and army lists became available, we immidiately downloaded and read like maniacs through them, only to notice what so many had feared - there are NO points cost for any units! I know, I know, it's about narrative gaming and Sudden Death scenarios, but that is not in any way how we want to play our wargames.
Therefor, we immidiately set out to make sure each and every unit had a proper points cost allocated to them. And although there are still plenty of work left, our test games have so far felt balanced, and REALLY fun as well!
Starting very soon, we will begin publishing the points cost for every faction on this newly created blog, as it seems there are lots of others screaming out for this. Once published, we are very open for suggestions and criticism, so be sure to comment away! As far as we are concerned, this is a project best made together in the Warhammer community!
